John Griffin Park is a natural area located in the central part of Cañon City. The Arkansas Riverwalk Trail loops through the park with the River Trail and the Bluff Trail. The middle trail is an interior trail located in the eastern section of the park. All three trails provide scenic pathways for walking or bicycling. (Horse riders are allowed on the Bluff Trail.) Benches and picnic tables are interspersed throughout the park and provide a resting point to enjoy listening to birds sing or watching the Arkansas River flow by. A series of fitness stations are located along the River Trail for those who want to add calorie burning options to their visit to the park. Interpretive signage along the River Trail identifies wildlife and aquatic life that call the park home.
